GlobalRelief Solar + Water
A compact unit that filters water and makes solar power, dropped by drone to communities that are hard to reach.
GlobalRelief combines water filtration and solar-powered electricity in one stackable unit, designed for swift deployment in disaster relief and the challenging environments of Sub-Saharan Africa.
A fixed-wing drone carries it in and drops it by parachute. Once it lands, its solar panels come off its sides to charge devices, and it draws dirty water from one container and fills another with clean water.
The final model was 3D-printed in parts and assembled into the full frame, with solar panels fitted to its sides.
